|Description||The office building, with integrated training center and showroom, of Saint-Gobain Gyproc is located on an industrial site in the city Kallo, Belgium. The building surface amounts to 3.200 m2 and contains the following functions: Offices, Laboratories, Meeting rooms, Training centers, Showroom.|
At first, CONIX RDBM Architects advised the client on how to elaborate the program of demands and subsequently fulfilled its role as an architect. CONIX RDBM was responsible for the whole process: from the concept, to the execution and finally, the follow-up.
During this project, the concept of durable construction was never lost out of sight. The design is therefore developed according to the principles of durability, which eventually resulted in a building with a global K-level of 21.
The materials used for this building, are chosen in relation to its location and functions. By using a steel plate with a laying profile, the outside façade of the building is perfectly in line with the industrial surroundings and appears to be extremely transparent, in combination with the large windows.
The atmosphere on the levels locating the offices and meeting rooms can be defined as ‘warm` as these rooms wish to create a pleasant working environment. On the ground floor, on the other hand, where the showrooms are situated, the atmosphere is industrial and rather stiff.
