|Description||In the land where for decades was the Hotel del Prado, which suffered serious damage in the earthquake of 1985 - and later was demolished was raised in the first instance the construction of an office tower. Later given the market conditions it was decided that the most convenient was to built a hotel. Since this is the first work in the Historic Center of Mexico City in forty years after the earthquakes of 1985, there were a number of responsibilities that ranged from the ethical, aesthetic, structural, social and political. They opted for a modern design that integrates the latest technologies and that had a chance to adapt to the subsequent. The idea was to break intentionally with the context and the image of the buildings in the area, but at the same time achieve environmental recovery, as well as the reintegration of commercial and cultural and social activities of Mexico in the fifties, a time when hotels were considered socio-cultural gathering centers, as it was the hotel del Prado.|
The hotel is focused especially to business people in eighty percent and tourism by twenty percent. Besides offering hosting services, it also has convention centers with more than 6,000 m2, with a flow capacity of 5,000 people and services such as: simultaneous translation, projection of audiovisual materials, conference recording, and theatrical stage lighting, sound 3dfr from high quality wireless microphones, among others.
This project meant a challenge because it was the first hotel made ??by Pascal Arquitectos and the first project of this magnitude.
